A Second Factory Task at BMW

Figure’s first BMW deployment assigned Figure 02 to load sheet metal on the assembly line in Spartanburg. When Figure 03 arrived at the same plant in June 2026, the demonstration shifted to logistics sequencing. The newer robot had to handle parts while repositioning itself and moving a cart, extending the work beyond a fixed pick-and-place station.

Figure AI Competitive Landscape

Workplace Tasks and Household Chores

Figure and 1X both build humanoids, but their near-term task settings differ. Figure has demonstrated workplace deployment, whereas 1X’s NEO targets the household. The contrast matters because a recurring station task and work in an unfamiliar home call for different kinds of reliability.
