Reducto Company Development

Document Structure Becomes an API Output

Reducto built a developer API for a problem ordinary text extraction leaves unresolved: how to keep tables, layout and other document structure intact when feeding data into downstream software. Its later investor announcement framed the service around this broader document-understanding problem.

Reducto Competitive Landscape

Document Structure as an API Output

The comparison with basic OCR turns on what the next system needs. Recognizing characters may work for a short image, but tables and forms can lose meaning if the parser drops row, column or layout relationships.
